The attire for the event is cocktail. This can mean a suit, dress shirt with a tie, midi- or knee-length dresses, or dressy separates.

Getting to The Old Post Office by Lyft/Uber or Taxi

More than 850 people will be coming and going from the venue for Connections. Avoid waiting in the valet parking line by considering Lyft/Uber ride share or a taxi to the venue! The Old Post Office (TOPO) is conveniently located in Chicago at 433 W. Van Buren Street. The venue was chosen because of its proximity to homes of many Lab families.

Using Metra and Amtrak Trains

Chicago’s Union Station, home to Amtrak and some Metra trains, is two blocks from The Old Post Office (TOPO). Ogilvie Transportation Center, home to some Metra trains, is 7/10 of a mile from TOPO.

Where do I park at The Old Post Office?

Complimentary valet parking is available in front of The Old Post Office at 433 W. Van Buren St. After exiting your vehicle, please go through the pedestrian gate off Van Buren St., proceed up the ADA ramp, and enter the Historic Lobby via the first set of East River Plaza doors.

For those looking to self-park, discounted parking will be available at the venue's south entrance, 404 W. Harrison St.

What does the registration/check-in process entail?

Upon checking into the event, you will be asked to present a credit card specifically for The Leave Your Stamp Challenge. We may already have a credit card number associated with your ticket purchase on file, in which case nothing more is required. If you wish to change or add your credit card on your household account, you can do that here or at check-in. After checking in, you will receive a welcome text with your table assignment. The welcome text is also your link to donate during the Leave Your Stamp Challenge portion of the evening.

What is the program for the evening?

The event starts with a cocktail hour in the Historic Lobby featuring hors d’oeuvres, several full bars, and music courtesy of Lab's Chamber Music Collective. Guests will then be asked to be seated for dinner, brief remarks, and the Leave Your Stamp Challenge. During dinner, guests will be treated to live music from the Middle School Jazz Band. Once the program ends, the dance floor will open and guests can enjoy coffee and dessert stations, as well as music from Lab's very own, 8th Grader, DJ Data319, followed by music from Chicago's Ultrabeat.
