Covid Vaccination and Masking Requirements
In coordination with both Laboratory Schools and Museum of Science and Industry standards, proof of a COVID-19 vaccination and face masks will be required for everyone in attendance at the Connections Gala 2022.
The safety of our community remains a priority for us as we are planning and hosting Connections 2022. It is our hope that these additional layers of protection will allow us to all experience the excitement that comes with gathering together and supporting our Schools, while reducing the risk of COVID-19.
Please note, guests should be prepared to show proof of vaccination in order to attend the event. Properly-worn masks will also be required, unless eating or drinking.
Providing Proof of Vaccination Status
All attendees of the gala must provide proof of vaccination.
- Patrons age 5 and older must show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19.
- All attendees will also need to provide identification that matches their vaccination record.
- The Museum will be verifying proof of vaccine at the entrance to the venue before guests can be admitted.
- Proof of vaccination means a CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card or an official immunization record from the jurisdiction, state, or country where the vaccine was administered or a digital or physical photo of such a card or record, reflecting the person’s name, vaccine brand, and date administered.
All visitors regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask while at the Museum of Science and Industry. Masks must be worn at all times in all areas of the museum, regardless of vaccination status. If you have any questions or need accommodations, please contact connections@ucls.uchicago.edu.
This convening is open to all invitees who are compliant with UChicago vaccination requirements and, because of ongoing health risks, particularly to the unvaccinated, participants are expected to adopt the risk mitigation measures (masking and social distancing, etc.) appropriate to their vaccination status as advised by public health officials or to their individual vulnerabilities as advised by a medical professional. Public convening may not be safe for all and carries a risk for contracting COVID-19, particularly for those unvaccinated. Participants will not know the vaccination status of others and should follow appropriate risk mitigation measures.
